Hola from Matucana!
Today we understand fully what it means to be flexible. We say this with a great smile on our faces because despite the changes and doing things that we were not preparred for, God still managed to make things work for His glory. It started this morning, when a group of us woke up very early to go to a school to teach english to classes in an elementary school through reading Bible stories. Another group planned on going to a retirement house but those plans fell through so they met up with the school team later on. What we didn´t expect was to be thrown into 9 classes back to back to back to back (well, you get the point). We were told that we would go to 2 classes and then be done, but God had greater plans for us! We were able to preach the gospel to more classes in one day than we had planned to do all week! Glory to God!!
Later on today, as a group of us were headed to go door to door in the town, we were surprised to find one of teams that headed into the village yesterday show up in the back of a truck driving through the town. We had to take a second glance because we were not expecting to see them for another day! But there they were, Robert, Sally and Patrick. They explained that they made it to the village and had the chance to talk to some families and eat some unique foods (they still don`t know what they ate) but there wasn´t many people there so decided to come back.
(sorry about the first few pictures, we can´t rotate them. Must be a Peru thing)
The title of todays Blog is pleasantly surprised because although many things didn´t go according to what we had planned, God had something greater planned for us! With the group from one of the villages with us earlier than planned we now can split up into more teams to reach more classes in the school tommorow! Simply put, we are all pleasantly surprised.
Praise God for all He's doing!! Thanks for the pictures!!!
